Richard, Hogan both finish in 14th in giant slalom at Colby Carnival

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine -- Lily Hogan placed 14th in the giant slalom in her collegiate debut for the Colby College women's alpine ski team and Max Richard was 14th for the men at the Colby Carnival on Sunday at Sugarloaf.

Giant slalom racing was scheduled for Saturday, but racing was called off due to high winds. 
 
Hogan (pictured) had runs of 1:04.85 and 1:03.79 for a two-run total time of 2:08.64. Jessica Reinhart, back for her second year with the Mules, had a total time of 2:09.94.
 
First-year skiers Julia Chahine took 32nd place in 2:15.36 and Rosie Hust placed 36th with a 2:16.38.
 
Richard clocked runs of 1:01.97 and 1:01.45 for a two-run total time of 2:03.42. Matt Wilson was the lone other Colby skier to finish both runs in a time of 2:04.55 for 24th place.
 
The women's team placed sixth overall with 64 points, while the men took eighth place with 49 points.
