Hust, Richard lead alpine skiers in slalom at Eastern meet

RIPTON, Vt. -- Colby College's Rosie Hust had her fifth top-10 Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association finish of the season in the slalom, finishing seventh at the Eastern Championships on Friday at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl.

Hust, a first-year, stayed in top form for the upcoming NCAA Division I Skiing Championships in less than two weeks. Hust had a two-run total time of 1:39.09 on runs of 49.89 and 49.20.
 
Sandy Schoepke (pictured) made the top 20 by placing 17th in 1:40.64 with runs of 50.52 and 50.12. Lily Hogan took 30th place in 1:42.31 and Julia Chahine was 37th in 1:44.05 for the fifth-place Mules (76 points).
 
For the Colby men, Max Richard had runs of 49.47 and 47.33 for a two-run total time of 1:37.30. Michael Ferri took 31st place in 1:39.55 and Colbey Derwin placed 34th in 1:39.98 for the seventh-place Mules.
