Schoepke takes ninth in giant slalom at Eastern meet

NEWRY, Maine -- Colby College's Sandy Schoepke had another top-10 finish, this time in the Eastern Skiing Championships as part of the Bates College Carnival on Friday at Sunday River.

Schoepke had times of 1:20.26 and 1:19.63 for a two-run total clocking of 2:39.89 in the giant slalom. She helped the women's team place sixth overall with 62 points.
 
Tess Baldwin took 32nd place in 2:48.94 (1:25.73, 1:23.21) and Rosie Hust finished in 2:49.0 (1:24.83, 1:24.17). 
 
On the men's side, Colby teammates Chauncey Morgan (pictured) and Paul Ferri tied for 23rd place in 2:39.42. Morgan went 1:20.83 and 1:18.59, while Ferri finished with 1:20.43 and 1:18.89. 
 
Colbey Derwin took 27th place in 2:41.04 (1:21.68, 1:19.36).
