WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College field hockey team begins the season with six of the opening seven games in Maine, including the debut game on the new artificial turf field Saturday, Sept. 16.
The next three games are in Waterville, with a road game at Thomas College on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in a rare 8 p.m. start. The new field, located adjacent to the Harold Alfond Athletics Center, will be used for the first time in a regular season game when the Mules face Williams College at 11 a.m. Colby meets Connecticut College the next day at home on Sept. 17 for a 1 p.m. start.
The Mules play five of the next seven games at home, starting with a game against Trinity College on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. Colby plays the first-ever night game on the new field against University of New England at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 26.
The third straight mid-week night game features the Mules against University of Maine at Farmington on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. Colby has a tough weekend of league games when Amherst College visits on Saturday, Oct. 14, and the Mules head to Bowdoin College on Sunday.
