Turf installed on new field

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The new artificial turf field for the field hockey and lacrosse teams is getting closer to being finished after the turf was installed during the week of July 10-14.

The new field is located adjacent to the Harold Alfond Athletics Center and behind the lower level parking lot. Field hockey and lacrosse played on a grass field in the same spot before Bill Alfond Field was built.

While field hockey practice will begin in late August, the first-ever regular season game on the new turf field will take place against Williams College on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11 a.m. The Mules also host Connecticut College the following day at 1 p.m.
