Golfers compete in two tourneys

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College golf team split up Sunday and competed in both the Thomas College Invitational at the Waterville Country Club and the Husson Invitational at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.

Five golfers who are also hockey players for Colby competed at Thomas. Geoff Sullivan placed third with a 73, just one stroke behind two golfers at 72. Devin Albert placed 15th with an 81 and EJ Rauseo took 17th in carding an 82.

At the Husson two-day tourney, Michael Broucek placed 14th with rounds of 79 and 77 for a 156 finish. Sam Funderburg had an 83 and a 77 for a two-day total of 160. Ryan Conway led all Colby golfers after the first round on Saturday with a 77.
