Men's novice 4 crew wins race at President's Cup event

GREENE, Maine -- The Colby College men's novice 4 crew had a convincing win over Bates College and Bowdoin College at the President's Cup event on Sunday.

The Mules had a time of 7 minutes, 24.23 seconds to easily beat Bates (7:45.5), Bowdoin (8:02.82), and a second Bowdoin crew (8:47.3). 
 
Chessy Singer (coxswain), Henry Toulmin (4), Arthur Benson (3), Daniel Ellison (2), and Tom Cummins (1) were in the novice 4 boat.
 
The men's varsity 8 boat had a time of 6:56.6 to take second place in front of Bowdoin (7:33.2) and behind Bates (6:37.2). Singer (coxswain), Toulmin (8), Ethan Ashley (7), Liam Rex (6), Drew Eckler (5), Arthur Benson (4), Tom Cummins (3), Jeff Endler (2), and Dan Spellman (1) rowed for the Mules.
 
The second varsity 8 boat clocked a 7:05.69 to take second place. Lily Wain (coxswain), Sam Subbukumar (8), Daniel Ellison (7), Christian Papadellis (6), Ben Swift (5), Chris Marcello (4), Parker Sikora (3), Zachary Boone (2), and Makoto Kinoshita (1) were in the boat for the Mules.
 
The varsity 4 boat for Colby placed third in 7:49.94 with Catie Blair (coxswain), Rex (4), Ashley (3), Endler (2), and Spellman (1). The second varsity 4 boat of Tomo Cho (coxswain), Will Seivwright (4), Robbi Melvin (3), John Olson (2), and Jack Coffman (1) also took third in 8:00.5.
