Divers both in top 10 to help men's swimming and diving improve finish

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --- The Colby College men's swimming and diving team moved up one place and scored 96 more points than a year ago after the final day of the NESCAC Championships on Sunday at Wesleyan University.

The Mules had 462 points to take 10th place and finish just seven points out of ninth place. 
 

John Pintauro made the championship final in 3-meter diving and took eighth place with 356.50 points, while fellow diver Travers Losert was 10th with 326.35 points.

Xander Geiersbach and John Blackburn both had 16th-place performances. Geiersbach had a 1:53.08 in a preliminary race in the 200 backstroke, while Blackburn also was faster in the 100 freestyle prelim (46.70).

Colby's 400 freestyle relay team of Kyle Wong, Carter Garfield, Jacob Tower, and Blackburn took 10th place in 3:08.48.
 

Williams College won the men's meet with 1,671 points and was followed by Amherst College (1,402), Tufts University (1,391), Connecticut College (1,331), Bates College (997.5), Bowdoin College (856), Trinity College (617), Middlebury College (576.5), Wesleyan (469), Colby (462), and Hamilton College (332).
