Murad earns NESCAC and ITA honors, Reid All-NESCAC for sixth time

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College men's tennis player Vlad Murad (Bacau, Romania) earned two honors Thursday and teammate Carl Reid had an honor for the seventh time from the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Murad earned his third All-NESCAC honor and his first for singles play by making the first team. He also was selected as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Region Most Improved Senior.
 

Reid, with more than 100 career victories for the Mules, was named to the second team for singles to garner his seventh All-NESCAC honor in his four years. He has earned four All-NESCAC singles honors (two first team, two second), two doubles (both second team), and was the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2014.

Murad, who is heading to the NCAA Division III Championships from May 25-27 in Tennessee, is 17-4 in singles play and finished 17-6 in doubles this season. He has a career record of 94-44 (44-21 singles, 50-23 doubles).
 

Reid is the first Colby men's player to go over 100 career wins and finished up at 107-44. He was 56-18 in singles and 51-26 in doubles. Reid was 14-4 in singles and 17-4 with Murad in doubles.
