Men's tennis coasts to victory over Camels, 9-0

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Jeremy Mendoza and Luis Gonzalez saved a match point and battled back for a 9-8 (6) victory in second doubles to lead Colby College to a 9-0 victory over Connecticut College in NESCAC men's tennis Saturday.
 
The Mules (8-2 overall, 3-1 NESCAC) received straight sets singles wins from Scott Altmeyer, Sumukh Pathi, Garrett Reiter (pictured, Mendoza, Gonzalez, and Jonathan Hallal. Pathi had the closest match in a 6-4, 7-6 win at the second singles spot.
 
Altmeyer and Pathi won 8-4 at first doubles, while Shaw Speer teamed with Reiter for an 8-5 win at third doubles.
 
Altmeyer improved to 8-1 in singles play and is 8-1 in doubles with Pathi. Mendoza is 7-1 in singles action. The Speer/Reiter doubles pairing is 7-2 this year in dual matches.
