Reiter wins at third singles, third doubles for Mules in setback

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Garrett Reiter won at third singles and teamed with Shaw Speer for a victory at third doubles for the Colby College men's tennis team in a 6-3 loss to 24th-ranked Bates College in NESCAC play Monday.

Garrett Reiter, a first-year, took a 6-4, 7-5 victory for Colby (8-5, 3-4 NESCAC) at third singles, while Jeremy Mendoza did not give up a game in his straight sets win at fifth singles. Mendoza improved to 8-3 on the season.
 
Bates took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Speer (pictured) and Reiter combined to win 8-2 at the third spot. Speer and Reiter are 8-3 in doubles.
