Summers breaks school record

BOSTON, Mass. -- Landon Summers broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles and Brian Sommers placed third in the 400 dash for Colby College at the Open New England Men's Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Reggie Lewis Center.

Summers placed 13th with a time of 8.49 to break his record of 8.51 set last year.
 

Sommers had a 48.93 in Friday's preliminary round race and went 49.18 in the championship final. 

Griffin Gagnon clocked a 4:16.99 in the mile to take eighth place. James Gibson placed 16th in the triple jump (43-4.25).
 

Colby's 3,200 relay team of Eli Decker, Keith Barnatchez, Arthur Cassidy, and Liam McDonough finished 10th in 7:57.91. The 1,600 relay of Jimmy O'Donnell, Pedro Caballero, Brian Sommers, and Marcques Houston finished 14th in 3:23.57.

The Mules finished in 12 place out of 32 scoring teams with 17 points.
