Relay team third, Kibet fourth at New England Division III meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Colby College's 1,600-meter relay team placed third and Benard Kibet was fourth in the 5,000 meters at the New England Division III Men's Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

The relay team of Jimmy O'Donnell, Sage Bailin, Ben Smith, and Marcques Houston had a time of 3:18.24 to beat four NESCAC schools. 
 
Kibet (pictured) finished with a time of 15:02.84 to earn five points for the Mules in the 5,000 meters. Colby teammate Eli Decker was 19th in 15:39.53.
 
Colby's 400 relay team of Zach O'Connor, Smith, Ty Farris, and Houston placed seventh in 42.78. Meanwhile, Colby's 3,200 relay team of Keith Barnatchez, Arthur Cassidy, Rob Dettmann, and Liam McDonough placed 10th in 8:06.62.
 
O'Donnell also competed in the 400 hurdles and had a time of 56.48.
 
Colby finished in 20th place with 14 points.
