Decker leads the way, finishing second for Mules at state meet

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Colby College's Eli Decker finished in second place in the Maine State Men's Cross Country Championships and the Mules had three runners among the top 11 in racing at Bowdoin College on Saturday.

There were 19 total teams at the meet, but scoring was broken down for the 19 teams and for the 12 Maine squads. Decker, who took third overall among the 19 teams, was the second Maine runner to cross the line in 25 minutes, 26.3 seconds over 4.97 miles.
 
Reeve Maddux took 11th in the Maine meet and 13th overall for Colby in 26:22.2, while first-year teammate Max Lessans finished in 26:23.1 for 14th place overall.
 
Collins Kibet placed 31st overall for Colby in 26:51.1, Gabe Kline took 34th with a 26:55.9, and Ben Lawlor was 39th in 27:02.6.
 
The Mules placed fourth overall and third among Maine schools.
