Eastman takes fourth, Amber seventh for Nordic skiers at UNH

JACKSON, N.H. -- Silas Eastman tied his best finish ever by placing fourth for the Colby College men's Nordic ski team and Olivia Amber took seventh place for the women in racing at the University of New Hampshire Carnival at the Jackson Touring Center on Friday.

Eastman had a time of 26 minutes, 34.9 seconds over the 10-kilometer course. Colby teammate Zane Fields had his best finish in a classic race, placing 13th in 27:03.8. Ian Liphart took 34th place for the Mules in 28:07.2.
 

The Colby men finished in sixth place with 66 points, ahead of both Bowdoin College and Bates College.

Amber (pictured), who collided with a spectator on a downhill portion of the 5K classic, still finished seventh in 15:23.7. Amy Bianco took 13th place in 15:41.2.
 

With the NCAA Division I Skiing Championships at Jackson Touring Center in March, the University of Utah raced in the competition.
