Nordic skiers compete in sprint relay

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Amy Bianco and Olivia Amber joined forces to finish in sixth place for the Colby College women's Nordic ski team in classic sprint relay racing on Saturday at Rikert Nordic Center.

Bianco and Amber continued to get stronger over the six-lap event. The pair were 22nd after the opening lap and were 12th after five laps. A big final lap moved the women up to sixth in a final time of 24:03.3.
 

Skylar Tupper and Julia Lazzaroni (pictured) combined to take 17th place in 25:19.1. The Colby women placed fifth overall.

For the Colby men, Silas Eastman and Zane Fields teamed to take 13th place with a time of 22:23.1. Andrew Egger and Scott Harrison were a place behind in 14th at 22:31.7.
 

Colby will compete at the Eastern Championships (Bates Carnival) next Friday and Saturday at Black Mountain.
