Big final EISA race for Amber, Bianco, Eastman at Easterns

RUMFORD, Maine -- Colby College's Olivia Amber, Amy Bianco, and Silas Eastman made their final Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) race one to remember at the Eastern Championships/Bates Carnival at Black Mountain Resort on Saturday.

Amber finished in second place (45:03.2) and Bianco (45:03.7) was a tight third in the women's 15-kilometer mass start for a second-place team finish. Both women came roaring back after the second of three laps. Amber was seventh at 30:33.8 and Bianco was fifth with a 30:32.1. The two seniors will both be heading to the NCAA Division I Skiing Championships at Attitash from March 8-11.

"Amy and Olivia had an amazing day and fulfilled a dream of finishing on the podium together. A perfect end to an incredible four years," Colby head coach Tracey Cote said. "We are sending more skiers to nationals than any other Division III school."

On the men's side, Eastman and Zane Fields will be heading to the national meet.

Eastman took eighth place in the men's race with a time of 52:26.5 over 20 kilometers. Eastman made his move on lap three of four when he went from 15th place to eighth.
