Coletta, Fields will compete at NCAA meet for Nordic skiers

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College men's Nordic skier Zane Fields (Woodstock, Vt.) is back in the NCAA Division I Skiing Championships for a fourth time and women's skier Marin Coletta (Bozeman, Mont.) will compete at nationals for the first time.

The NCAA selected 74 men and 74 women among Nordic and alpine skiers Tuesday. The Nordic races are Wednesday, March 6, and Friday, March 8, at Trapp Family Lodge in Vermont.

Fields, an All-American last year at nationals in Colorado, just earned All-East honors for the third time in his career. He won six Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) races last year and added another victory this season. Fields is the 10th-ranked skier in the country.

Coletta, a sophomore, showed promise in her first season last year and became the Mules' top female skier this year. Consistency was a key for Coletta, with three finishes in the top 10 and six in the top 15. Coletta had sixth-place finishes at the Dartmouth and University of New Hampshire carnivals.
