WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College softball team's scheduled game on Friday with Bates College will now be played Sunday, April 23 at noon at the Colby Baseball/Softball Complex.
Sunday is scheduled to be a Breast Cancer Awareness game. Colby players will be wearing Pink for their “Strikeout Cancer” game to raise awareness for breast cancer. On each of their bows, they will wear the initials of people they are playing for as a way to show their support those who have battled or are currently battling breast cancer.
All donations this week are going to the Susan G Komen Foundation in Maine. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has funded more than $920 million in research since 1982, and more than $2 billion in medical care, community and provider education, and psycho-social support, serving millions in over 60 countries worldwide. The team chose this foundation because of its local impact on women’s breast cancer care and accessibility.
