Softball falls in two games, will be off Wednesday in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. -- Colby College pitcher Wiley Holton allowed just two earned runs in a complete game in a 6-0 setback to Union College in non-conference softball on Tuesday in Florida.

The Mules also fell 11-1 to University of St. Thomas in their first game of the day.
 
Hailey Rohall, Lauren Niemiec, Kathleen Mason, Zena Robert (pictured), and Holly Lallis had hits in the Union game for the Mules (0-6 overall).
 
Union scored three in the third inning, two in the fifth, and added a lone run in the seventh.
 
Paige Hartnett had two stolen bases and one hit in the St. Thomas game. Julia Saul doubled in the run for the Mules. Katie Guerin had one hit, while Ella Hommeyer scored and walked.
 
The Mules are off Wednesday before playing St. Olaf on Thursday at 9 a.m. and Mount St. Vincent at 11:30 a.m. Colby finishes up the Florida trip with a doubleheader against Luther on Friday at 9 a.m.
