Women's basketball falls

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Colby College women's basketball team led early in the game, but 21st-ranked Bowdoin College opened up a big halftime lead on the way to a 71-30 NESCAC victory on Saturday.

The Mules drop to 9-9 overall and 2-4 in NESCAC play, while Bowdoin is 14-3 and 4-2 in the league.
 

Colby held a 7-6 lead after five minutes of play. However, Bowdoin's tight defense helped the Polar Beras go on a 15-2 run to pull away for a 38-18 halftime lead.

Haley Driscoll had 10 points to lead Colby, which will play host to University of Southern Maine on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
