BEVERLY, Mass. -- Colby College's Lexie Perticone had three goals and two assists and the Mules' defense held Endicott College without a goal in the second half in a 13-3 non-conference women's lacrosse win Tuesday night.
Celeste Murtha (pictured) added a pair of goals and had one draw control for the Mules (1-1 overall). Kelsey Bowen and Emma Banks also had goals for Colby, which had a 22-16 shot advantage and was 3-for-6 on free-position shots.
Bowen and Smith both scored for Colby as the two teams traded goals for a 2-2 tie. Smith scored her second goal of the half to put the Mules up for good with 22:29 to play. Banks scored her second of the season for a 4-2 lead and was followed by three straight goals from Smith, Murtha, and Crowell for a 7-2 lead.
Colby came out strong and took over the contest in the first eight minutes of the second half. Murtha scored on a free-position shot and Perticone scored three straight goals to push the margin to 11-3. Crowell added her second goal and Smith got her fourth to close out the scoring.
Endicott (2-1 overall) had scored a combined 29 goals in victories over Wellesley and Wheaton. The Mules play host to Wellesley on April 2.
