Women's soccer drops road game

AMHERST, Mass. -- Sam Rizzo stopped eight shots for Colby College, but 27th-ranked Amherst College scored just 2:32 into the second half to make it a two-goal lead in a 2-0 NESCAC victory Saturday at Hitchcock Field. 

The Purple & White (9-2-1 overall, 5-1-1 NESCAC) had a 25-3 shot advantage and an 11-0 margin in corner kicks. The Mules fell to 6-6 overall, 1-6 in the conference, and will play host to Bowdoin College on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Hannah Guzzi had both goals for Amherst. She had the eventual game-winning goal at 21:36 and had the early goal in the second half.

Nicola Katz, Aliza Van Leesten, and Hannah Brozdowski had shots for the Mules.
