Women's soccer loses tough match

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College goalkeeper Sam Rizzo kept her team in the game until the final minutes, but Hamilton College scored with 4:52 to play and held on for a 1-0 NESCAC women's soccer victory Saturday. 

The Mules (6-8 overall, 1-8 NESCAC) needed a victory to stay in the hunt for a league playoff berth. Colby will finish the season Tuesday at home against Bates College at 3 p.m. Hamilton moved to 4-7-3 overall and 2-7-1 in the league.

Colby seniors Jillian Fleischer, Emilie Klein, Georgia Lubrano, Nora Mabie, and Aliza Van Leesten were honored before the game.

Rizzo made seven of her 12 saves in the second half. The Continentals had a 26-6 shot advantage a 5-3 margin in corner kicks.

Van Leesten had three of Colby's six shots and Emily Martin had two.

Amanda Becker scored off a rebound off the original shot from Ali Clarke.

Emily Dumont recorded three saves for Hamilton.
