Women's squash wins Epps Cup at national team tournament

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Colby College women's squash team finished 25th in the country after dominating Epps Cup play with an 8-1 win over 26th-ranked Hamilton College on Sunday at the National Team Championships.

The Epps Cup is for teams ranked 25th to 32nd in the country. The Mules (13-15 overall) stayed at No. 25 despite two 7-2 wins over 21st-ranked Tufts and a 7-2 win over 24th-ranked Wesleyan in the past month. Both of those teams played in the Walker Cup (teams ranked 17 to 24).

The Mules slammed the competition in the Epps Cup, losing just two matches in victories over Bucknell (9-0) and Mount Holyoke (8-1).

Colby junior Devin Mullaney won her 15th match of the season and her 39th career victory after winning 3-0 at the first position. Madiha Molani won her 13th match with a 3-1 win at the second position.

Julianna Song was a 3-0 winner at the third spot to finish her first season at 15-10, while Olivia Silverman took a 3-1 victory at four. Caroline Pelham finished her Colby career with 46 victories with a win at six.

Lily Wain led the Mules with a 22-6 record while playing four different positions. She won in three at the seventh position Sunday. Wain has 39 victories in two years.

Eighth position player Ren Robinson (pictured) won 36 matches in her career, including a 14-7 record this year. Meanwhile, Elise O'Brien had Colby's other win at nine.
