O'Brien named NESCAC Women's Squash Player of the Week

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College's Elise O'Brien (Cos Cob, Conn.), who won the deciding match in a big 5-4 win over Wesleyan University, was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Squash Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

The 25th-ranked Mules needed the win from O'Brien to beat 23rd-ranked Wesleyan. She took a 3-2 victory in set scores of 12-10, 7-11, 11-3, 6-11, 11-9 over Sarah Clothier at the seventh position.
 

O'Brien went 3-2 on the weekend, including a victory in Colby's 6-3 win over 29th-ranked Mount Holyoke. The Colby junior missed the opening nine matches of the season while studying abroad. She is 5-3 since returning and has 24 career victories.

O'Brien and the Mules have a busy week. Colby will play at Bowdoin College on Tuesday and then play host to Bates College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
