Women's swim team defeats Trinty, earns split

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Shauna Yuan, Katie Discipio, and Katherine King all had one second-place finish and a third for the Colby College women’s swimming and diving team in a quad-meet on Saturday at Wesleyan University.

The Mules took an easy 265-83 win against Trinity College and fell 225.5-144.5 to Wesleyan. Bowdoin also competed, but the Mules will meet the Polar Bears in a dual next Saturday at Colby at noon.
Yuan was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.98) and third in the 50 breaststroke (32.24). Discipio was runner-up in the 400 individual medley (4:52.44) and finished third in the 200 butterfly (36.22). King took second in the 200 backstroke (2:17.75) and third in the 100 backstroke (1:02.86).
Thirds went to Madi Keohane in the 200 backstroke (2:16.67), Katie Southworth with a 25.71 in the 50 freestyle, and Morganne Hodsdon in the 500 freestyle (5:27.31).
