Yuan, Cimino win races for women's swim team

WATERVILLE, Maine — Shauna Yuan won two breaststroke races and was runner-up in a third for the Colby College women’s swimming and diving team in a 206.5-120.5 loss to Bowdoin College on Saturday.

Yuan continues to have a terrific season. She was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.27) by more than three seconds and took the 200 breaststroke (2:31.20) by more than four seconds. Yuan also placed second in the 50 breaststroke (32.23).
Catherine Cimini had the other win for the Mules in the 50 freestyle (25.78).
Colby captain Morganne Hodsdon and Kitty Elwyn both had two second-place finishes. Hodsdon finished in 2:14.25 in the 200 backstroke and had a 2:00.92 in the 200 freestyle. Elwyn has been consistent in the distance freestyles, taking second in 5:27.68 in the 500 and 11:14.78 in the 1,000.
The Mules also received seconds from Katie Southworth in the 50 freestyle (25.96), Tyra Daruwalla in the 200 butterfly (2:14.16), Katie Discipio with a 27.42 in the 50 butterfly, Madi Keohane in the 100 backstroke (1:03.28), and Abigail Taylor-Roth at 2:35.63 in the 200 breaststroke.
