Relays take ninth at NESCAC meet

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Colby College had two relay teams take ninth place and Eliza Baker-Wacks had the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 50 breaststroke at the NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Bowdoin College on Friday.

The team of Olivia Hammer-Grant, Maria Armillei, Katherine King, and Catherine Cimini were ninth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:39.37.
 

Emily Ambeliotis, Abigail Taylor-Roth, Katie Discipio, and Armillei took ninth with a time of 4:02.59 in the 400 medley relay.

Baker-Wacks placed 20th in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 31.81 (31.69 prelim). Cimini was 19th for the Mules in the 50 butterfly (26.55) and 23rd in the 50 freestyle (24.79), King took 24th in the 50 backstroke (29.53, 28.65 prelim), Taylor-Roth with a 2:13.42 (2:12.51 prelim) in the 200 individual medley for 24th place, and Armillei with a 24th in the 50 freestyle (25.18, 24.68 prelim).
 

In 1-meter diving, Alicia Elliott placed 15th with 292.30 points and teammate Kirsten Johnston was 17th with 277.75 points.

Colby has 137 points and is in 10th place after the first day of competition.
