Women's swimming and diving 19th in country for academic honor

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College women's team earned the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honor for the 18th straight year Wednesday.

The women were 19th among NCAA Division III schools with a combined team grade point average of 3.58.  

Colby was third among New England Small College Athletic Conference schools, trailing only Connecticut College (3.78) and Wesleyan University (3.59). The Mules were ahead of Williams College (3.57), Tufts University (3.56), Bowdoin College (3.53), Hamilton College (3.51), Trinity College (3.46), Bates College (3.37), Amherst College (3.36), and Middlebury College (not listed).

A record total of 720 men's and women's institutions were honored. Teams needed at least a 3.0 grade point average during the spring 2017 semester.
