Garrett, Berzansky both finish in ninth place at huge meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- Isa Berzansky and Michaela Garrett both had ninth-place finishes for the Colby College women's indoor track and field team at Boston University's Valentine Invitational on Friday.

The meet combines runners from all three NCAA divisions, unattached athletes, and club athletes. 
 

Berzansky (pictured) had a leap of 5-feet, 3-inches and nailed it on her second jump at the height. Meanwhile, Garrett had a throw of 54-7.25 on her fifth of six throws on the day.

Taylor Depalo is the second-fastest 400-meter indoor runner in school history by taking 18th out of 88 runners in a time of 57.41. Emily Doyle has the top time at 56.52. Depalo also took 61st place in the 200 dash (26.13), three places behind Jenna Athanasopoulos (26.00) in 58th place. Athanasopoulos clocked the second-fastest time in school history by a competitor and Depalo now stands in third place behind Frances Onyilagha (25.37).
 

Sophie Stokes-Cerkvenik was 27th in the 60 hurdles (9.22) and Athanasopoulos finished 37th with a 9.34.

Lydia Fanning placed 34th in the 1,000 meters (3:04.01) and Helen Chavey took 40th in 3:07.28. Maggie Giles took 56th place in the 800 meters with a 2:18.89 and Chavey was 69th with a 2:20.56.
 

In longer distance running, Hannah Springhorn was 47th in the mile (4:59.85) and Caitlin Lawlor took 51st with a 10:00.01 in the 3,000 meters.
