Garrett, Lawlor lead Mules

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Michaela Garrett won the weight throw, the 1,600 relay team earned a victory, and Cait Lawlor took second place in the 1,500-meter run for the Colby College women's track and field team at the MIT Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday night.

Garrett had a toss of 174 feet, 2 inches to have one of her best throws of the season. Her school record is 174-7. 

The team of Michaela Athanasopoulos, Taylor Depalo, Rachel Leonard, and Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik had a time of 3:53.62. 

Lawlor clocked a time of 4:36.09 in the 1,500 meters, while Taylor Depalo took third in the 400 dash in 56.88. Sara Friedland placed fifth in the 100 dash (12.47) and Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik had the same finish in the 100 hurdles (15.32).

Colby's 400 relay team of Athanasopoulos, Depalo, Stokes Cerkvenik, and Friedland placed fifth in 48.17.
