Stokes Cerkvenik breaks school record in indoor 60 hurdles

BOSTON, Mass. -- Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles invitational and had two top-10 finishes at Boston University's David Hemery Invitational on Saturday.

Stokes Cerkvenik had a time of 8.96 to take 10th place overall and break the old school record of 8.98 set by Brittany Reardon '14 in 2013.  Stokes Cerkvenik also placed fifth in the 200 meter dash (25.67).
 
Sara Friedland was third overall and first among Division III sprinters in the 60 dash in 8.00.
 
Julia Rembetsy-Brown (pictured) took 25th place in the long jump (17-0.75) and 26th in the triple jump (34-4). Alexa Scher took 12th place in the pole vault (10-0.5), Emily Larson was 27th in the regular 60 hurdles (10.29), Emma MacCallum finished 37th in the shot put (31-8), and Taylor Depalo was 44th in the 400 meters (57.74).
 
Colby's distance medley relay team of Helen Chavey, Depalo, Margaret Giles, and Hannah Springhorn took 12th place in 12:07.79.
