Stokes Cerkvenik, relay teams win at Southern New Hampshire

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Sophie Stokes Cerkvenik won the 100-meter hurdles and the Colby College women's outdoor track and field team won two relays at the University of Southern New Hampshire Invitational on Saturday.
Stokes Cerkvenik had a winning time of 15.17 in a field of 24. She also was the third runner on the winning 400 relay team of Julia Rembetsy-Brown, Taylor DePalo, and Sara Friedland. The foursome had a winning time of 49.52.
The team of Rebecca Berube, DePalo, Lydia Fanning, and MJ Kievman won the 3,200 relay in 10:01.32.
Isa Berzansky took second place in the high jump (5-1.25), while Rembetsy-Brown took fourths in the long jump (17-6.25) and the triple jump (35-10.50). Alexa Scher also had a fourth in the pole vault (9-0.25) and Brit Biddle was fourth in the mile (5:22.32). 
Colby had fifths from Rachel Leonard in the 400 dash (1:01.67), Berube in the mile (5:25.66), and Helen Chavey in the 5,000 meters (19:17.47).
Colby finished third in the 15-team meet with 94 points. 

At the Connecticut College Silfen Invitational, Sophia Gorman placed fourth of 53 runners in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17 minutes, 48.98 seconds.

In the 800 meters, Margaret Giles placed sixth out of 73 runners with a time of 2:18.61. Brit Biddle took 14th place in 2:21.34.
Chavey was 10th out of 84 runners in the 1,500 meters with a 4:46.94. Hannah Springhorn finished 18th in 4:50.17.
