Volleyball team handles Husson in three straight sets

BANGOR, Maine -- Paige Hanssen (Earlysville, Va./Computer Science, the NESCAC-leading kills leader, added 15 more to her total to lead Colby College volleyball to a 3-0 win at Husson University on Tuesday night.
The Mules won by set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-17.
By the numbers
* Hanssen also had nine defensive digs and a match-high four service aces. She leads the league in total kills (172) and kills per set (4.0).
* Elizabeth Middlebrook (Ridgefield, Conn./Economics) had a fine match with eight kills, six digs, three aces, and two blocks for the Mules. Nicole Petherbridge (Tewksbury, Mass./Math Science) finished with six kills and eight digs, while Molly Manuel (Andover, Mass./Math Science and Economics) had 27 assists and six digs. 
* The Mules held Husson (1-12) to just 23 kills, with no player recording more than five kills.
Next up
The Mules (5-8 overall) play at Williams College on Friday at 8 p.m. Colby then travels to Hamilton College for a 2 p.m. match Saturday.
