Lawlor fourth at Williams race

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Colby College junior Caitlin Lawlor placed fourth overall out of 278 runners at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic on Saturday at Mount Greylock High School.

Lawlor, a junior, had a time of 22 minutes, 15.4 seconds over the 6-kilometer course. MIT first-year Megan McCandless won the event in 21:58.3, Middlebury's Abigail Nadler was runner-up in 22:00.8, and Emma Zehner of Williams took third with a 22:06.7. 
The Mules finished in 11th place with a score of 355. Geneseo won the championship with five runners in places six to 19.
Lydia Fanning, a first-year, took 84th place for the Mules in 24:38.2. Besides Lawlor, the other six Colby runners were all sophomores or younger. Amy LoTemplio was right behind Fanning in 84th with a 24:44.0, Elizabeth Holland took 89th in 24:52.3, and Britney Biddle was the other scoring runner in 95th place (25:02.5). Sonia Tremblay made it in the top 100 in 98th in 25:11.2 and Rebecca Berube was 104th with a 25:31.9.
