Hust 11th, Derwin 12th in slalom for Colby alpine skiers

JEFFERSONVILLE, VT. -- Rosie Hust placed 11th in the women's slalom and fellow first-year Colbey Derwin took 12th in the event for the Colby College men at the Saint Michael's Carnival on Saturday at Smugger's Notch.

Hust had runs of 46.32 and 44.47 for a two-run total time of 1:30.79. She was second among skiers from Division III schools.
Sandy Schoepke took 23rd for the Colby women in 1:31.93, Jessica Reinhart was 29th in 1:34.50, and Lily Hogan finished 30th with a 1:34.98.
Derwin took 12th place for the Colby men in 1:41.34 over runs of 50.32 and 51.02. 
Matt Calarco placed 28th for the Mules in 1:46.16, Cam Price finished 30th in 1:46.60, and Michael Ferri placed 37th.
Colby's women placed sixth overall with 71 points, just one point out of fifth place. The men were eighth overall.
