Hust competes in giant slalom to open up NCAA Skiing Championships

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colby College first-year Rosie Hust prepared for Friday's slalom event by placing 29th in the giant slalom at the NCAA Division I Skiing Championships on Wednesday.

Skiing on Howelsen Hill at the Steamboat Springs Ski Resort, Hust had runs of 57.97 and 1:02.58 for a two-run total time of 2:00.55.
Hust has had a fine first season at Colby, placing five times in the top 10 in Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) slalom races.
After a day off Thursday, the alpine skiers will compete in the slalom at night. The first run is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. (EST).
