MIDDLEBURY, Vt. -- Sandy Schoepke had a top-10 finish weekend by placing ninth in the giant slalom for the Colby College women's alpine ski team at the Middlebury College Carnival on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Matt Wilson (pictured) placed 14th for the Colby men.
Schoepke, after placing fourth in the slalom Friday, had runs of 1:05.61 and 1:09.07 for a two-run total time of 2:14.68.
Rosie Hust finished 24th with a 2:17.17 (1:07.09, 1:10.08), Lily Hogan was 27th at 2:17.68 (1:07.21, 1:10.47), and Tess Baldwin placed 29th in 2:18.25 (1:07.32, 1:10.93) for the sixth place Mules.
Wilson had runs of 1:02.33 and 1:05.44 for a total finish of 2:07.77. The Mules placed seventh overall, but were just two points out of fifth place.
Colbey Derwin had a 2:10.15 finish on runs of 1:03.79 and 1:06.36, while Chauncey Morgan had a 2:10.28 (1:03.46, 1:06.82) for 31st place. Paul Ferri took 33rd place in 2:10.41 (1:03.66, 1:06.75).
The alpine ski teams combined with the Colby Nordic ski teams to place fourth overall in the team score.
