Griffith wins first collegiate golf title with win at Waterville CC

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College sophomore Jack Griffith (Simsbury, Conn./undeclared), a week after finishing second at the Maine Intercollegiate Golf Championships, won his first collegiate title with a victory at the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational on Saturday.

Griffith was able to play on Colby's home course at the Waterville Country Club. He had a 3-over-par 73 on the 6,301-yard course.
 
Colby teammate Elliot Snow (Bethesda, Md./undeclared) finished in a tie for third place with a 75. Michael Broucek (Wayzata, Minn./Economics) and Evan Burstein both had an 83, while Sam Funderburg (Springfield, Ill./Economics) carded an 89.
 
The Mules finished in third place out of 10 teams with a 314 total. Southern Maine won the tourney with a 300 and Maine-Farmington took second at 312. Husson University was tied for third with Colby and both teams were followed by St. Joseph's College (319), Thomas College (325), Maine Maritime Academy (326), Bates College (329), University of New England (335), and University of Maine at Presque Isle (439).
