WATERVILLE, Maine -- After posting three shutouts in three games last week, Colby College's Andrew Tucci (Toronto, Ontario) was honored Monday as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Hockey Player of the Week.
Tucci extended his scoreless streak to 189 minutes by defeating Saint Anselm College (2-0) and league opponents Connecticut College (8-0) and Tufts University (2-0). Tucci stopped all 83 shots he faced and is unbeaten in his last six games (4-0-2).
In the win over Saint Anselm, Tucci made 17 of his 33 saves in the third period in what was a 1-0 game at the time. He made 25 saves in both the Connecticut College and Tufts games.
In the latest NESCAC statistics, Tucci ranks second in the league in save percentage (.937), tied for second in goals against average (1.72), and first in minutes played (489:43).
Tucci ranks tied for third nationally in shutouts (3), 11th in goals against average, and 11th in save percentage.
The Mules (4-2-2 overall) play at Saint Anselm on Monday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m.
