Tough road setback for Mules

BANGOR, Maine -- The Colby College men's soccer team had the statistical edge and an early lead, but Husson University scored with 31 seconds left to halftime to go ahead on the way to a 2-1 non-conference win Tuesday.

Colby, now 1-3-1 overall, will play at Trinity College on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Mules also play Sunday at Connecticut College at 2 p.m.
Jeffrey Rosenberg gave Colby the lead at 10:32 of the first half off an assist from Cam Clouse, who has two assists this season. Rosenberg, the Mules' leading scorer last season, has one goal and one assist this year.
The Eagles (1-3-2) tied the game on an unassisted goal by Josh Bellomo at 28:33 of the opening half.
The Mules gave up the dreaded late goal before halftime when Miguel Caballero scored with 31 seconds remaining from Ian Lee.
The Mules had a 5-1 shot advantage and an 8-1 corner kick margin in the second half while trying for the equalizer. Colby took a 10-1 edge in corner kicks for the game.
Dan Carlson played the first half and Stanley Clarke came in for the final 45 minutes in goal for the Mules. Neither keeper was credited with a save.
