Men's squash falls match short in tough 5-4 setback

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The 26th-ranked Colby College men's squash team came ever so close to knocking off 22nd-ranked Bowdoin College in a tough 5-4 setback on Tuesday.
Elliot Gross took a straight set (11-4, 11-8, 11-7) win at the first position for Colby (3-6 overall). 
Alex Spafford (pictured) at the second spot, Chase Holding at three, and Ryan Santoro at the fifth position all took 3-2 wins for the Mules. Spafford won 7-11, 11-1, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5. Holding won the first two sets (11-6, 11-8), lost the next two, and then won 11-9 in the decider. Santoro took a 12-10 win in the fifth set.
The Mules fell in three matches going four sets.
