Reiter, Speer win matches for men's tennis against No. 18 Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. -- Garrett Reiter and Shaw Speer both won singles matches for Colby College and the Mules had some other tight matches in a 7-2 loss to 18th-ranked Tufts University on Sunday.

Colby, which ends the season at 8-7 overall and 3-6 in the NESCAC, received a 6-2, 6-3 win from Reiter (pictured right) over Zach Shaff at the third singles spot. Meanwhile, Speer had a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 come-from-behind victory against Dan Coran at the fourth spot.
The Mules' Jeremy Mendoza went to a super tie-breaker at fifth singles, falling 7-6, 3-6, 10-6. All three doubles matches were competitive, with Scott Altmeyer and Sumukh Pathi falling 9-7 at first doubles.
