Fields earns another podium finish; Waichler, Miller lead women

HANOVER, N.H. -- Colby College's Zane Fields earned his fifth podium finish of the season by placing second in the men's 10-kilometer classical at the Dartmouth Carnival at Oak Hill Recreation Area on Friday.

Fields has won three Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) races and has two second-place finishes. Both of the runner-up finishes have come against University of New Hampshire's Peter Holmes, who won Friday in 30 minutes, 39.60 seconds. Fields clocked a time of 30:53.30.
Fields helped the men's team finish fifth, just four points out of fourth place. Colby was second among Division III schools and beat Middlebury, Bowdoin, and Bates.
Ian Liphart took 23rd place for the Mules in 32:10.60, while first-year Foss Kerker clocked a 32:22.80. Sam Sinkler placed 33rd in 32:28.0.
Waichler had a time of 38:13.50 to help the Colby women place sixth in the 5K classical.
Kirsten Miller finished in 22nd place for the Mules in 38:37.30.
