Nordic ski teams have fine finishes behind Solow, Coletta

JACKSON, N.H. -- The Colby College men's Nordic ski team placed third overall and the women were fourth in sprint racing at the University of New Hampshire Carnival on Saturday.
The Colby men were just three points behind second place Dartmouth College and had three place in the top 15. Meanwhile, the women were five points out of third place and had three in the top 21.
"Sprint racing is something we only get to do a few times a year as college skiers, and it was great to see our team have such an awesome day," Colby head coach Tracey Cote said. "Will Solow and Torsten Brinkema, both first years, had incredible finishes."
Solow finished in seventh place for the Mules. Zane Fields took 12th place and Brinkema was 13th. Scott Harrison took 27th place and Foss Kerker was 33rd.
Marin Coletta (pictured) kept up her fine start to the season by placing sixth for the Colby women. Kirsten Miller was 19th and Skylar Tupper finished 21st for the Mules.
"Marin continues to mix it up with some the best collegiate ski racers in the country," Cote said. "I was really happy with our entire team’s skiing today and our team finishes. We also had a great group of alumni who came to cheer us on, so it was an extra fun race."
