Fields fourth for Nordic men's skiers; Miller leads women's team

STOWE, Vt. -- Zane Fields had his best performance of the season by placing fourth in the 10-kilometer freestyle for the Colby College men's Nordic ski team at the University of Vermont Carnival at Trapps Outdoor Center.

Fields had a time of 27 minutes, 16.0 seconds and the was the only New England Small College Athletic Conference skier in the top 10.
Foss Kerker placed 24th for the Colby men in 28:54.3 and Torsten Brinkema placed 36th in 29:36.5. The Colby men placed fifth overall with a score of 77 points.
Kirsten Miller finished 19th for the Colby women with a time of 15:57 in the 5-kilometer freestyle. Claire Waichler, after missing the first two carnivals, took 25th in 16:08, Marin Coletta placed 29th with a 16:17, and Erin Bianco (pictured) finished 32nd in 16:26.
The Colby women took sixth place with 69 points and were just two points out of fifth place.
