San Roman named NESCAC Women's Hockey Player of the Week

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College goaltender Cierra San Roman (Orange, Calif.), who had a .981 save percentage in two games against Connecticut College, was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

San Roman stopped 25 shots and earned her third shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory at Connecticut College on Saturday. She had nine of her stops in the third period and had to hold off the Camels for about 56 minutes after Colby scored in the opening period.
 
In Friday's game against the Camels, San Roman stopped 28 shots in a 1-0 loss. She kept Colby in the game as Conn College had a 29-13 shot advantage.
 
San Roman has her save percentage up to .948 and her goals against average down to 1.48. The sophomore has made 875 career saves and owns a .936 save percentage.
 
Colby plays at eighth-ranked Middlebury College at 7 p.m. Friday.
