Women's hockey player Klein earns All-NESCAC honor

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Colby College had Lauren Klein (Minnetonka, Minn.) for a full season this year and she played well enough to earn New England Small College Athletic Conference Second Team All-Conference honors Tuesday.

Klein, a sophomore forward, finished with seven goals and six assists for 13 points to help the Mules finish 12-10-3 overall and 8-8-0 in the conference. Klein also was a key player on face-offs and had four goals and six assists in conference play.

"This was the first time in three seasons Lauren wasn’t joining a new team at the start of the year," Colby head coach Holley Tyng said. "I’m thrilled to have her here at Colby and for her to be able to establish a foundation. I’ve seen her confidence grow over the year and a half that she’s been here, and I’m excited about what the future holds as she continues to develop as a player."

Klein played 19 games for Boston University last year before transferring to Colby. She finished the season with the Mules and had three goals and two assists.
