BRUNSWICK, Maine -- On a cold night at Bowdoin College, the Mules fell behind early and could not come back, falling 12-7 to the Polar Bears. Robyn Pirie started the scoring for the Mules eight minutes into the game to bring the score to 4 -1. Emma Banks scored on a free position shot and Pirie, assisted by Grace Langmuir, scored again as the half closed. However, the Polar Bears tacked on four more goals as well and the half ended 8-3 in Bowdoin's favor.
The Mules played a more even second half, fueled by three goals from Lyla Jones, including one assisted from Grace Crowell, and another from Pirie. Other shots hit the post and Colby played tight defense, but could not come all the way back. The loss moves them 7-4 overall, and 3-4 in conference play.
The Mules take the field again on Saturday at Williams at 12 pm (EST).
